Drifting by the Leeds & Liverpool is a portrait of humanity's everyday condition using traces in the landscape that mark possession, use and abuse along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. A poignant experience of absence, deindustrialisation, regeneration and the tranquility of water. Photographed by Andrew Fitzgibbon during a 127 mile psychogeographic wander and featuring a stills film narrated by Paul Butterworth.

The 10 minute short stills-film produced by Andrew Fitzgibbon includes a plaintive narrative, beautifully voiced by Yorkshire actor Paul Butterworth (The Full Monty, Strike). It features contemporary ambient sound recordings from the canal and sampled oral histories from its industrial past. The work has been featured on BBC Radio and in The Yorkshire Post.
